I have drawn my little elephant and have done my mock-up.
Different liquors will be; Blue Curacao, Strawberry liqueur, Melon, banana, and the list can go on...
All different colours so my little elephant has different coloured spots each time due to the die cut spots.
Also I have added a cocktail list swing tag on the neck and the label is a band around the bottle!

Label that Grog!

I started out wanting to do a very upmarket wine label with 'Red Kite'.
I was going to have a kite as a swing tag with all the information on one side and the logo on the other.
Then I went to 'Last Song' but I stopped after thinking that there are too many already on the market so similar.
Then I wanted to do a range of RTD's or ciders under the name 'Atlantis' but couldn't find the bottle I was looking for.
So at last I have decided to a liqueur/spirit range under the name 'Spotted Elephant.
Just in case you can't read my thumbnails I want to have the spots on the elephant to be die cut so the colour of the alcohol shows through.
The bottle I have chosen is a straight, plain, frosted glass liqueur bottle.

"SPOTTED ELEPHANT"

I have chosen 'Spotted Elephant", as my wine label.

It's unforgettable name inspired me to create something a little rustic.

I will be using brown textured paper, with a colour palette of red and black.

It will uniquely be a red wine, ideally Cabernet Sauvignon or Shiraz with a dark bottle and packaged in a hand made feel tube.

The label will attract both men and women, aged mid 20's to mature aged.

Bottle alone $15. Packaged $20.

Great wine for a gift as it will be packaged in a beautiful hand made tube, or just a relaxing wine over dinner.

I am doing an upper class Champagne for women between the ages of 20 - 40 years of age.
The Champagne will be called Tui.
my colour palette will be colours such as green, blue, gold, white.
i will be using the thin strip label down the bottle, front and back.
I might even glue a gold chain around the neck of the bottle and have it hanging down into position at the top of the label.
The box it comes in will be the same colours as the bottle.

I've decided on Tui as my wine label.
My target market will attract the 30+ men and women foodies and wine connoisseurs.
I'm keeping the colour palette very simple on clear bottles, deep burgundy print for red wine and white print for white wine. The label will be printed on clear adhesive paper so the design will be transparent .


Here's a rough sketch of my idea.
I'm on the lookout for the perfect shape bottle for the design to sit correctly

Melissa's Post:  "Tui", New Zealand Wine

My wine is going to be a New Zealand Wine representing the NZ Tui bird which is a member from the honey eater family. The Label and packaging will have a contemporary feel aimed specifically at the young modern man and woman. The price being around twenty to 

twenty five dollars.

My colour palette will match closely to the tui bird colours which is a beautiful blue and green with a hint of brown and grey.. It will be packaged either in a canister or a cardboard box. Tui will cover all types of wine and will come in a black bottle for reds and a clear glass for whites. I will be using a modern sans-serif  type and I may alter a photo of a tui bird in photoshop or render it by hand or perhaps combine the two. Still deciding on the technique but a tui bird will certainly be the main feature on the label and packaging.
